ARTIST PROFILE

Jay Mora-Shihadeh is a Fine Artist and Published Poet whose practice spans painting, pastel, and digital art. He earned a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, with a minor in Art Therapy.
With more than three decades of studio experience, Jay’s visual work has evolved from representational studies toward abstract expressionism, characterized by expressive color, gestural lines, and an intuitive approach to composition.
His current exploration of Tradigital Art brings traditional studio practice into digital space through tools such as Krita and Figma. Rather than replacing the original artwork, this process extends it—reinterpreting physical paintings and drawings through contemporary digital methods while keeping the artist’s eye at the center.
As a published poet, Jay explores the relationship between visual and literary expression, working across lyric, experimental, surrealist, speculative, and sound-driven forms. His writing often examines memory, inheritance, perception, identity, and heritage.
Across these disciplines, his practice is grounded in a commitment to Aesthetic Integrity—the belief that visual and narrative choices should remain intentional, considered, and distinctly human.
